Sunset'99

Indie Rock/Pop (CH)

Sunset ’99 is an indie rock/pop band from Ticino, Switzerland, formed in 2019. The original lineup consisted of Alexx Romero (guitar/vocals) and Gilles Fontana (drums), later joined by Leonardo Shine Palestini (bass) and Christian Martinetti (lead guitar). After releasing their debut album UPSDWN (2022) on Nova Era Records, the band parted ways with their original singer. After a brief stint with Anissa Boschetti, the current lineup solidified with Alice Petronici on vocals.

Their sound combines a melodic, cheerful melancholy with the vibe of late 90s/early 00s MTV videos, mixing punk rock and pop in a modern way, similar to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their musical influences range from Tina Turner and Amy Winehouse (vocalist), Queen, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, and AC/DC (guitarist) to Green Day, The Band Camino (drummer), and Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Interpol (bassist).

On November 29, 2024, they released “Sun,” the first single featuring Alice Petronici on vocals, followed by “Moody Love” and the upcoming “CSGB.”
